SEASONAL CAMPERS
From Shawn and Glenda (Orillia, Ontario)
We have been going to Camp Driftwood for 5 summers now. We really enjoy the friendly atmosphere. It is a real community, everyone willing to help each other out. Rachel and Alan work tirelessly to make sure everything is in tip top shape. Our son is outside from morning to night and never complains about being bored !! What more could we ask for. Child Kerian: I would tell anyone to go to Camp Driftwood and you’ll never want to leave. You can make loads of friends. The water is beautiful, awesome fish and fun wild life. I look forward to every minute we spend there.

After several years of camping at provincial parks, we decided to look at seasonal campgrounds. My family had a cottage on Trout Lake for 20+ years, so I was familiar with the beautiful clear lake and decided to call Camp Driftwood to see what or if they had any seasonal sites available. To our surprise they did! Once we went to meet Rachel and Allan and to look at the park we knew it was going to be the perfect spot for us. Rachel, Allan and all of the other campers were truly welcoming, and we have made some great new friendships. This is truly a family park that you can relax and enjoy your vacation at. Thank you to our gracious hosts Rachel & Allan Ross – and to a job well done!!

We love camping at Camp Driftwood. This will be our 3rd season camping here but we noticed the very first weekend that there is a real sense of a family community here. Everyone came and introduced themselves and welcomed us with open arms. Initially we chose this campground because my brother and his wife camp here but we soon fell in love with the scenic views and the people. The kids, especially, love coming here. They get to be kids and have fun. My son loves being able to fish off the dock and will spend hours just casting and reeling. My daughter, I think, was born part fish, you just can’t get her out of the water. They both also love to go exploring in the woods and learning about nature and feeding the squirrels. My husband and I love the quiet, peaceful times when we are sitting on our deck watching the water. Our lives at home are pretty hectic so just being able to sit and enjoy the scenery really recharges us.
Martha (Sudbury, Ontario)
Driftwood is a beautiful get-away. When I arrive at the campground I can feel the stress in my body being released. It is always a pleasure to spend time there. We feel very fortunate because Rachel and Alan have been there for us ex: helping us bring in our 5th wheel upon our return from the south. The campers are friendly and ready to give a helpful hand. If you love nature, wonderful people and a beautiful setting, Driftwood resort is the place to be.

COTTAGERS
Maggie Pelley (Sudbury, Ontario)
Send a family to camp sponsored by Camp driftwood was a absolute blessing for our family this summer. We were welcomed by the owners with open arms and made the cottage ground feel like home.
The cottage was spacious, wheelchair accessible and fully equipped! We were incredibly grateful as we haven’t got a family vacation before. Our daughter who’s 4 spent most of her life in hospital at Sickkids in Toronto dealing with complications after heart surgery, we had to live in a hotel for those years away from our home in Sudbury to be close to her, while staying in Toronto we had her brother who’s now 2 and he spent his first years raised in a hotel and sickkids also.
The last of 2018-2019 year we were finally able to settle back home but we’re stuck with a pile of bills that were neglected while we struggled in Toronto. I saw a flyer advertising “Send a family to camp” which read if you believe a family or your family deserves a family vacation that would make a difference for them, I went home and sent a email of what we have been through the past couple years and would love a getaway. Not even two days later I was completely surprised to have gotten a reply back so soon saying they wanted to accommodate us a week stay at their cottage and we were over the top excited. The camp ground was breath taking, our cottage was right on the lake with a great view, the lake was warm and perfect for swimming, our children had so much fun, made friends and memories. The wilderness was quiet and full of life, we saw turtles, beavers, moose and deer, surprisingly the bugs weren’t bad at all either! The day we had to leave we all didn’t want to, this experience had made a difference for our family, we felt closer, relaxed and it was the perfect getaway. Words can not express how amazing Racheal and Allen Ross are other than a gift from god. Their hearts and souls are so pure and they managed to make the perfect camp for special needs to experience. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts Camp driftwood for the best weekend/summer our family has ever had.

We had a great time camping at Camp Driftwood this past summer (July 2018). Our Cottage (#3) was
beautiful and well equipped exactly as stated on their website. Allan and Rachel were great hosts and
did everything in their power to make our stay memorable. The scenery, lake and sunsets were
spectacular. Although we were unable to enjoy a campfire due to the Provincial Fire Ban at the time;
our gracious hosts took us for a ride on their pontoon boat which we will remember for a lifetime. We hope to come back again in future years.
The Charltons family (Sudbury, Ontario)
After a trying season in our lives, our family was unable to spend time together due to family illness that took up much of our time. Our week at Camp Driftwood was a monumental milestone our family shared which we will never forget. Everyday was a new adventure, whether it was canoeing, swimming, fishing, campfires or the odd visit from the wildlife that resided nearby, our family enjoyed every moment of it. Overall, our experience was very relaxing as we enjoyed the friendly neighbor's company through campfires and nature walks. The most memorable moments included, the loon's songs at dawn and the calmness of the lake at dusk. The impact of the peace our family has experienced overall has brought us closer together. Thank you Ross family for this ultimate picture of what camp is all about; family, peace and love. We will share this with our family for a lifetime.

Driftwood was my beloved childhood camp. Summers spent here made many lasting memories. Now a mother myself, it's pleasure to take my children to share Trout Lake with them. Coming from the big city of busy streets and early curfews, Driftwood is a wonderful place to allow my kids to safely explore their scenic campground and stay up late roasting marshmallows around a bond fire. The Ross family is wonderfully accommodating. Their Camp Driftwood is a special place and we fell fortunate every time they share it with us.
Timo and Marie Lou (Milton, Ontario)
We enjoyed our experiences at Camp Driftwood. We liked Camp Driftwood since it is only 45 mins away from Sudbury. The nice, quiet and rustic feel that the cottages offer, with the beautiful views of the sunsets on Trout Lake. We liked it so much we decided to have our wedding and reception hosted there in the summer of 2011. We wanted a simple outdoor wedding where we can enjoy the simplicity of the outdoors and have a nice rustic feel. During our stays we thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor activities such as sunbathing on the beach, boating, water skiing, swimming, nature walks, cliff jumping, and campfires with friends. We have since had a summer vacation at Camp driftwood, we find it is a nice getaway from the busy lifestyle of Southern Ontario where we currently live.
Jeannine Beland (Sudbury, Ontario)
I went camping with my two daughters and handicapped grandson at Camp Driftwood in July 2014 for an entire week. Because my grandson is wheelchair bound, we were assigned Cottage #3 which is wheelchair accessible. Everything was accessible including the bathroom which even had a shower in which you can wheel right into with support bars where needed. The kitchen was well stocked and the rooms were spacious with plenty of room for mobility devices. Even the camp grounds are accessible including the campfire spot and the sandy beach. The Ross family graciously took us out for a boat ride on their pontoon boat and showed us the neighboring chalets on the lake as well as an eagle's nest. They even let my grandson steer the boat for awhile which he'll never forget. My mentally challenged grandson is very talkative and hugs people a lot which makes him not welcome everywhere. We also have been to places which claim to be wheelchair accessible but are not truly. At Driftwood we felt at home because of the friendliness of the owners, fellow campers as well as by the accessibility of the place. We definitely have memories that will last forever. Camp Driftwood is a great campground and we highly recommend it to everyone. We are grateful to SEND A FAMILY TO CAMP and to God for his loving kindness.(Psalms 107:8)
